Chapter 140

Arina headed to the location after meeting with her men. She did not know what Lily had planned, so she had to bring backup. A good number of her men were following her to that place.

Unknown to her, Carolina had hidden herself in one of the vehicles.

At the location. Lily had already prepared herself. She had planned a lot for Arina, and the whole world was going to witness a part of what was going to happen today. Arina was not going to escape all this.

About an hour later, Arina and her men arrived at the place. Their cars were parked on the side of the expressway, and through the directions she was given, they were supposed to enter the woods.

Why would Lily bring her to the middle of nowhere? Was her plan to kill her and feed her to the wild animals?

Arina could not tell what her plan was, but she was glad she was prepared.It was either she killed Lily or Lily killed her-both of them could not leave here alive.

A call came, andit was Lily.

"Hello, Lily," she said once she picked up the call.

"Make your way to the woods at your left," Lily instructed.

Arina turned to the opposite side from where the car was parked.She looked at her surroundings, and it was dead silent. It would soon get dark.

She thought about what Lily might have planned while waiting for her.Deep down, she felt nervous. She always remembered what Bella told her:

Lily wasn't someone to mess with.

But Arina was determined.

After making plans with her men, she instructed them to quietly follow her behind. After 10 minutes of walking inside the woods on her own,she crossed to the other side and entered the woods. Her men followed her after ten minutes, while unknowingly, her mother, Carolina, came down from where she hid inside the back of the SUV and calmly followed behind them.

An hour away was Alexander driving towards the location where they had tracked Lily. On his way there, he made sure to call his mansion to check if Lily was home so he could turn around and head back, but Clara informed him that she was not home yet.

He had also called Caleb, his grandfather-in-law, but Caleb had lied, saying Lily was at the family house. Doubting the old man's words,Alexander called the men monitoring the family residence, and they said they hadn't seen any sign of the lady boss arriving.

This filled Alexander with rage. One thing he hated was deceit. Lily had not returned home as promised, and her grandfather was lying for her.Now he was sure she was still at the location they had tracked before.

"Drive faster," Alexander said to David, who immediately sped up the vehicle.

Back in the woods, after walking for a good 30 minutes, Arina saw Lily standing in the middle of two huge trees with a full-body suit on. Arina looked at what she herself was wearing and was glad she had worn a body suit too, with a gun strapped around her waist.

The sound of someone approaching made Lily turn, and she saw that Arina was finally here.

"Good,you made it," Lily said to her.

"Well, we have to finish this once and for all," Arina replied.

A few meters away, in an underground base, Caleb, Michael, and Matthew were watching Arina and Lily through a monitor. They had cameras around the woods and even at the expressway, which was how they knew that Arina had arrived.

They had men stationed arouand where Lily was with Arina. They knew Arina came with some of her men, and Carolina had come behind.

"Send two men to look for Arina's mother and bring her here," Caleb instructed.

"Sir. do you think she might be trouble?"

"Not just that. It will make Lily think twice about doing what she plans to do with Arina. One thing about Lily is that she wouldn't want to involve a family member. Her mother doesn't know all she's done, so she's innocent,"Caleb said.

Matthew and Michael agreed with him, so they immediately sent two men to bring Carolina here, even if it was by force. But bringing her here would also mean letting Carolina listen to everything her daughter had done and seeing how the whole country would hear as well.

"Agreed, let's end this. You've done a lot of wrong to me, Arina,all because you want Alexander," Lily said.

"Right now, what I want most is to see you gone for good." Arina said.

and as she spoke, the hidden cameras were recording her words.

"I'want to see you try. You haive to fight me, and if you win, I'll conclude that maybe I didn't deserve Alexander, but you do," Lily urged her.

Arina smiled. She had learned martial arts growing up, and after waking up from her coma, she spent the two years she used to recover also practicing martial arts. She had dlone a full investigation on Lily during that time and found no record of Lily learning martial arts. She was confident she would win.

"Alright, if you say so," Arina said as she prepared herself by exercising her muscles.

Lily was already prepared, so she didn't waste time. She immediately headed toward Arina with her fist in the air and punched her in the face.sending Arina to the floor and catching her off guard.

Arina winced in pain and looked up at Lily, who had an angry look on her face and was breathing hard. Lily was so angry that her breathing was unstable.

Arina smiled and immediately stood up. "You took me by surprise."

"I have no time for prepping. Let's get on with it," Lily responded.

Lily clenched her fists, and Arina did the same. In less than five seconds.they collided with each other.

Caleb watched the fight on the screen in the underground hideout. He smiled because he was confident that his granddaughter was going to win.He had taught her martial arts from a very young age,and when she and her sister became teenagers, he had the best martial arts teacher in the country train them in secret. No records were kept. so Arina definitely

thought she would wvin.

The two men who went to bring Carolina came back with her unconscious.

"Why is she unconscious?" Caleb asked as he stood and walked toward Carolina,who was laid on the couch.

"The old lady was strong-headed. We had no other choice but to sedate her."

Caleb sighed. "Now how is she supposed to watch the drama?"

"The drug will make her sleep for only 30 minutes or so," Matthew said.

"Let's hope the best part won't be over by then. I want her to see what her daughter is like."

Caleb walked back to his seat and sat down. He watched the screen with a smile on his face.

Although Arina knew how to fight, she was no match for his granddaughter,who had already given her a few bruises on the side of her lip.

Back to the two ladies-the fight went on, with Lily punching Arina in the stomach, which made her yelp.

Arina looked at Lily in surprise, with a questioning look as to how she knew how to fight so well. Seeing the look on her face, Lily smiled.She knew what was going through Arina's head.

"You must be wondering how I'm this good,right?"

Arina struggled to get up while wincing in pain. She had only managed to stand when Lily knocked her down again.
