Chapter 149

5 Years Later

Lily was still in bed sleeping when he felt someone get into the bed and roll towards him. The person kissed him on the cheek with his tiny lips and played with his hair with his tiny hands.

Lily smiled because he already knew who it was. He opened his eyes and was greeted with his cute little face.

"Wakey Wakey mummy," he said with his tiny voice.

Lily smiled as she opened her eyes, knowing it was her son, Aden. She wrapped her hand around him and gave him kissesall over his face."My cute little prince."

Aden giggled as his mummy tickled him.

"Did you come to wake mummy?"

Aden nodded. "DDaddy asked me to come wake you, he said that the others will soon arrive," he said with his tiny voice that was like music to Lily's ears.

Lily laughed inwardly, not Alexander sending his son to come wake her after he had kept her awake all night.

Just a year after their official wedding. Aden came as a blessing to them. She did not think she was going to get pregnant again, but the heavens blessed her and Alexander with this cuteness in front of her. Aden was the male version of her; he had turned 3 years old two months ago.

"Okay, sweetheart,go play with your sister and the others while mummy

gets ready, okay?"

"Okay, mummy." He kissed her on the cheek before getting off the bed and running off.

She laughed as he ran with his little legs. "Be careful, baby, so you won't fall."

"Okay, mummy," he screamed in response with his tiny voice.

After having her bath, she put on a free-flowing dress and a cream hat with her hair down. They were going on a picnic with family and friends and would engage in games this summer holiday in the resort.

They had always come to the resort every summer holiday for the last five years. The first summer holiday, Grandma Helen was present.

But the second year, she wasn't. She was really sick and had passed away a weeks after she gave birth to Aden.

Lily was happy that Grandma Helen got to see Aden before she died.

Grandma Helen had said that she felt fulfilled in life and was ready to finally go meet her husband.

May her soul rest in peace.

Lily stepped out and smiled when she saw everyone waiting outside for the resort luxury bus to arrive, so they could head to the picnic location inside the resort near the mountainside.

Her eyes went to her grandfather, who was busy playing with his great-grandson. Both were laughing so loud. She was glad that her grandfather was still alive to play with his great-grandchildren, even though he was

getting older with each passing year.

Her eyes went to Sandra, Alexander's sister, who had gotten married four years ago and was now pregnant. She was with her husband and looked as happy as ever.

Then there was Sarah, who was chasing her five-year-old son around and screaming his name to stop running. Her husband was not present today since he had business to do.

Then there was Michael and Mathew, who were present with their wives. They had both decided to settle down just 2 years ago after they met the two sisters and got married almost at the same time.

Lily smiled when her eyes went to Angelina, Alexander's mother, who was having a conversation with 10-year-old Viola, who looked older than her age. Angelina looked so at peace and happy, enjoying listening to Viola, who was happily telling her about her little school science project that was a success.

Viola had told Lily and Alexander that she wanted to be a scientist, and Alexander was so proud that he was going to have a child who was a scientist.

Lily didn't expèct less from her daughter, who had an IQ that was so high.

Angelina was sad she wasn't able to attend their church wedding, but that was because she was still in the hospital. Ariana was finally discharged from the hospital only 2 years ago but kept receiving treatment until recently when the doctors said she was okay. She still had scars from the accident, but overall, she was fine now, and Alexander had reconciled with her. He decided to accept her back as his mother only if she kept proving to him that accepting her back was worth it.

Lily felt sad that her father. Peter Blake. was not here with his new wife. She had encouraged her father to get married again because the last thing she wanted was for him to grow old alone.

They weren't here because they had recently moved to Rome. Her father had set up a branch of their company there. so he needed to be there to run it until it was stable. His wife was 10 years younger than he was, and they were a perfect match.

She was happy she now had someone to call mother again. Nina had once been married and had grown-up kids who were adults now and in university. She was a great mother to her kids and had proven to be a great stepmother to Lily. She treated her like her own child. Nina always reminded her of her own mother. The resemblance she had with her late mother, both in looks and personality, was one reason why her father had agreed to marry her.

Another person who loved Nina so much was Caleb. He had approved of their marriage because Nina was a good fit for his son.

What more could she ever ask for? The heavens had blessed her with everything she ever wanted, and one of those blessings was a stable and complete family.

She felt a hand around her waist and smiled, knowing it was Alexander.

"Why are you just standing here instead of waiting for the bus with the others? I don't even understand why y'all choose to use the bus when we have luxury cars to take us there."

Lily turned to him and pinched his cheek. "Because we decided to be simple for once. You should too, baby."

Alexander sighed. "Okay,my love."

Lily laughed at his facial expression, which looked sad. "You want a kiss?"

Alexander nodded immediately, and it made her laugh.

They both kissed as if there was nobody else around.
