Chapter 27

What? Everyone in the room stared, too stunned for words.

Landon's name was known all over the world, yet here he was, admitting he'd only played a supporting role in the surgery.

Who could possibly have the influence to make Landon step aside?

The question lit uup in Oliver's mind. He cleared his throat and asked quietly, "Was it Asclepius who operated on Allison?"

Samson and Jeffry looked even more stunned, struggling to process what they'd just heard.

Landon nodded. "You are right. Your daughter was unbelievably lucky. Asclepius resurfaced just in time and took on her case. Honestly, her injuries were so serious that even I didn't think I could save her. Only Asclepius stood a chance."

The moment Landon confirmedi1everyone was left reeling. The legendary doctor had actually been here, performing the surgery himself.

Oliver couldn't help but shudder, imagining the outcome if Asclepius hadn't been there for Allison.

He stepped forward, his voice tense with hope."Dr.Green, is there any way you could introduce us? I want to thank him face to face."

Landon's demeanor instantly cooled. He shook his head and waved the suggestion away.

"That's not possible. What you can do is remember the debt you owe him. If he ever wants to collect, he'll let you know."

Oliver opened his mouth to say something else, but Samson laid a hand on his arm, stopping him.

"We won't forget what he did for us. And we're grateful to you and your entire team, as well," Samson said, his voice filled with sincerity. Then he paused, glancing around the room in puzzlement. "What about that young woman who helped me earlier? If not for her quick thinking, Allison never would have made it to the hospital in time."

Landon scanned the hallway, his brow furrowing pretendingly. "She might've left with the rest of the team.I wasn't really paying attention. Allison's already been moved to her room, so you should go be with her now.I've got something important to deal with and haye to go." Without another word, Landon turned and strode away.

Samson turned to Oliver, determination in his eyes. "We need to check the hospital's security cameras. That woman saved Allison's life at the scene. We have to thank her properly."

"I understand, Grandpa. I'll look into it as soon as we see how Allison's doing,"Oliver replied, pushing his glasses up on his nose.

Meanwhile, word about Asclepius's presence at the hospital spread like wildfire, sending ripples of excitement and regret through the entire medical staff.

Doctors at every level mourned the missed opportunity to meet a living legend.

Those working at this hospital felt the sting most of all, wishing for a second chance to witness greatness up close.

The sharpest regret was reserved for the handful of staff who had actually crossed paths with Landon's team, never realizing Asclepius had been right there, hidden in plain sight among them.

If they had known the truth, every doctor and nurse would have swallowed their pride and pleaded for even a brief moment inside that operating room.

But fate had other plans, News.soon spread that Landon had scheduled a major operation for the next day-and several of them had been picked to assist.

It felt like winning the lottery, a chance most would never even dare to hope for.

The envy rippled through the hospital staff. Not only had they nearly brushed shoulders with the mysterious Asclepius, now they had the honor of scrubbing in alongside Landon himself. Whispers passed from one department to the next-maybe, just maybe, they would one day meet Asclepius in person.

Meanwhile, in a hospital room across the hall, Rodger sat by Violet's bedside, his body aching but his attention focused entirely on her.

"Rodger, I'm so sorry. You're hurt, and I still called you back to take care of me." Violet offered a weak, apologetic smile.

She knew Rodger was going to see Emilia, so she played up her illness to bring him running.

All it took was one phone call, and he would drop everything for her. Emilia didn't stand a chance.

Violet imagined Emilia stewing in frustration, powerless to change anything.

Just one little gesture from her, and Emilia would end up utterly defeated.
