Chapter 69
Patrick was fuming over Emily's escape, so he called up Ots, the owner of Twilight Enchantment Lounge, and booked a room. Then he sent a message to Vincent and Willard.
Patrick: [Meet me at Twilight Enchantment Lounge at 8 PM.]
Vincent and Willard were taken aback when they got the message and quickly replied: [Got it!]
They started chatting in their group chat.
Vincent: [What's up with Patrick today, booking a room at Twilight Enchantment Lounge?]
Willard: [Something's definitely up.]
Otis: [I think so too.]
Vincent and Willard couldn't wait to get to the lounge.
At eight. Patrick rolled up in his AMC sports car. As he pushed open the door, he saw two guys in black holding umbrellas at the entrance, with Vincent and Willard standing nearby.
"It's not even raining!" Patrick said, frowning.
"Mind your own business! We're trying out the Eldoria tycoon look!"Vincent said.flicking his hair dramatically.
"Are we drinking or what?" Willard asked from under his umbrella.
"Every time we go out, it's the same old thing. Tonight, I'm having Otis set me up with twenty girls!" Vincent said, clapping his hands like a
playboy.
Otis stood on the steps, unimpressed, and asked, "Emily didn't come?"
"Since when do you care about Emily? I liked her first!" Vincent snapped at Otis.
"What did she do to piss you off this time? You two have been at it for years," Willard said, waving his hand for the security guard to step back.
Patrick, not interested in talking about Emily's antics, led the way inside, and the three friends followed him into the private room.
Even though Otis wasn't into playing around with women, he had to admit that the place was packed with beautiful women. Most of them weren't even staff; they just came here willingly because the bar was their hangout spot.
Even if it was just for a night. it was worth it. And if someone was lucky, marrying into a wealthy family wasn't just a dream. Fairy tales like that often happened in Sunshine Bay City or Shadow City.
As soon as Patrick and his friends sat down, the waitress whispered something to Otis. He nodded, and she bowed to everyone before leaving with her walkie-talkie.
"New girl?" Vincent asked, leaning back on the sofa and tilting his head at Otis.
Otis lit a cigarette, nodded, and said,"No idea."
Soon, the door opened again, and a bunch of stylishly dressed girls walked in, blowing kisses to Patrick and his friends. Willard stayed calm,Otis looked indifferent. Patrick had a chilling vibe, and Vincent had a playful
grin.
The waitress opened all the bottles of wine she brought in, including XO and Romanée-Conti. The table was covered with various types of alcohol.and the girls' eyes lit up instantly. The waitress opened all the bottles of wine, from XO to Romanticony, and the girls' eyes lit up instantly.
The girls had already zeroed in on their targets. They weren't staff.just here to have fun. If they clicked with someone, great. If not, they'd move on. But not paying after having fun? That was like a free-for-all, and Twilight Enchantment Lounge had a vibe no ordinary club could match.
One pretty girl tried to cozy up to Patrick, her perfume wafting over.He stood up and moved to a corner. Seeing this, she switched gears and sat next to Otis instead.
A club staff member in a black dress and stockings poured wine for Patrick, saying. "Mr. Rivera, it's been a while since you've been here. Let's have a good time tonight!"
Patrick raised his glass and downed it in one go, not caring who he was toasting with, just wanting to drink.
Thinking Patrick was easygoing, the new girls approached him with their glasses, saying softly, "Mr. Rivera, nice to meet you." Patrick didn't even glance at them, just finished his drink again.
Seeing Patrick so accommodating, the two girls sat on either side of him.One even tried to link arms with him. Patrick smoothly moved his arm away and said in a low voice, "Back off!"
Just as the two girls were left confused, Willard's phone rang. Seeing an unfamiliar number, he ignored it and hung up. But the number kept
calling. Annoyed, he stepped out of the private room to answer. The urgent voice on the other end said. "Emily is injured and in the hospital. If you can find Patrick, please tell him, thank you!"
Willard was about to ask who it was, but the caller hung up. He stood at the door, thinking for a moment, then walked back in. Even though Patrick and Emily were on the outs, this was serious. If Patrick found out later,he'd be furious.
Avoiding the noise. Willard leaned in and whispered to Patrick, "Emily is injured."
Patrick's eyes flickered, and he asked coldly. "Where is she?"
Willard grabbed his coat and asked. "Want us to come with you?"
Patrick didn't respond. He was thinking. 'How bad is it? Is she bleeding?'
The three friends had an unspoken understanding. When Willard followed Patrick out, the other two ditched the women and booze without hesitation.
The girls left in the private room stared blankly as the four left like a gust of wind, then turned their attention to the bottles on the table. Soon, the room was filled with sounds of revelry.
On the way. Patrick nervously held his phone, tapping his fingers on his watch. Though he didn't speak, Vincent could sense his agitation. Willard had just told them about Emily being in the hospital.
The night air grew colder, and the hospital was bustling with people coming and going.
Patrick glancedat Vincent walking ahead, squinted slightly, ignored him.and continued towards the hospital entrance.
