Chapter 38

"Ronnie needs to apologize to me in front of the whole school and face disciplinary action."

Emily's conditions were firm.

She didn't think she was being unreasonable at all.

Bianca frowned, trying to seem generous. "Emily, isn't that a bit much? Ronnie just messed up in the heat of the moment. You weren't really hurt, so why not let it slide this time? Just have him apologize and call it a day. If he gets disciplined, it could mess up his future. He's so talented; he should be the pride of the school."

She was speaking with the school's best interest in mind.

She couldn't believe Bobby would side with Emily.

If Emily disagreed, it would show she was narrow-minded.

This would only highlight Bianca's sense of fairness.

Of course, if Emily agreed, Ronnie would be grateful to Bianca, not Emily, which would mae Bianca more important in Ronnie's eyes.

"Alright!"

Emily smiled lightly, but there was someting unsettling about her smile.

Bianca didn't expect her to agree so quickly withouit even considering it. She was momentarily surprised but quickly rejoiced. "That's great! Emily, why don't you shake hands with Ronnie..."

"I agree, but you wvill take the punishment on Ronnie's behalf. How about that?" Bianca's smile froze on her face.

If she agreed, her academic record would be tarnished forever.

If she didn't agree, Ronnie might resent her over time.

Bianca's mind raced. "If you two can reconcile, I'm willing to do it. But I'm afraid this matter won't stay hidden, after all..."

She glanced at the students outside the door, as if to say, "Too many people know the truth."

Emily scoffed, cutting off Bianca's insincere words.′′Iyou can't do it, then stop wasting time. Ronnie, look at the person you're defending!"

"Ronnie, that's not what I meant..." Bianca hurriedly tried to grab Ronnie's hand.

;

He trembled slightly and stepped back, avoiding Bianca's hand.

"Mr. Owens, is myrequest acceptable?" Emily turned to Bobby, not wanting to waste more time with Bianca.

Kurt shot Bobby a warning glance.

Reminding him to be careful with his words.

Bobby was amused. Did they think he was that incompetent?

"Yes, that's the proper way to handle it. I'm sorry you had to go through this. The school will compensate you accordingly." Bobby nodded.

Emily nodded, not refusing. At that moment, her phone rang. Emily saw the caller ID and was surprised. She quickly answered the cafl.

"Mr. Smith, what can I do for you?"

Outside the school gate, in a parked Maybach, Daniel crossed his long legs, his cold face softeníng slightly as the call connected.

"Biscuit and Cloudy are sick and need to go to the hospital. I'm near your school for some business. Violette said you're at school. Do you want to go to the hospital together?"

His deep voice came through the phone.

"Sure, I'll be right there!"

Emily thought of how much Liam trusted her with Biscuit and couldn't let anything happen to them. She quickly agreed.

She hung up the phone and said goodbye to Bobby and Kurt.

She left the matter of transferring departments to Kurt.

Kurt had no objections.

Bobby had many things to handle, and he left after dealing with the situation.

Before leaving, Emily didn't spare Ronnie and Bianca another glance,

Ronnie would receive his punishment from Bobby.

Proud as he was, he had never experienced anything like this before.

He was visibly shaken, feeling disoriented. Bianca, on the other hand, thought she heard Emily mention Daniel on the phone.

No.it couldn't be Daniel!

She must have misheard.

Emily, a timid fool, couldn't possibly know someone like him.

Emily was unaware of Bianca's inner turmoil.

It was indeed Daniel.

If he was almost here, she couldn't keep him waiting.

"...Sorry,Emily!"

Emily had just left the office when she was almost bumped into by someone rushing towards her.

The person quickly apologized, anad upon realizing it was Emily, she didn't leave in a hurry.

She even checked Emily from head to toe to make sure she was okay before breathing a sigh of relief. "I heard you had a fight with Ms. Chambers and that Bianca and Ronnie were in the office too. I don't know the details, but anything involving Bianca is usually bad news. I'm glad you're okay."

"Yeah, I'm fine. Thanks for checking on me!"

Emily knew Sophia was a good person, but her immediate concern upon hearing it might involve her made Emily feel a bit strange.

"No need to be formal. Where are you headed? How about I treat you to lunch to calm your nerves? I have something to tell you." Sophia waved her hand, not caring at all, and looked at Emily expectantly.

Emily had something to do, so she had to decline. "Sorry, maybe another time. I have some things to take care of."

"Alright then!" Sophia looked a bt disappointed.

Seeing Sophia still following her, Emily asked, "You mentioned you had something to tell me. WVhat is it? If you don't mind, you can keep it brief."

Implying she didn't want a long conversation.

Sophia's already bright face lit up with joy. "Actually, I wanted to thank you. My mentor has been guiding me in painting these past few days, and I've made great progress. Mr. Williams recommended that I participate in the 'Canvas of Dreams' art exhibition."

Emily remembered the exhibition from her past life.

It was indeed an exhibition for newcomers, but all the participants were verytalented.

Sophia's participation meant she had reached a certain level of skill.

"Congratulations! It's notbecause of me; it's your talent that got you there." Emily didn't take credit.

Sophia felt warm inside hearing Emily's affirmation.

She then remembered something, and her expression turned serious.′′Ithink I saw Bianca's name on the list. But Bianca steals other people's work, which means she has no real talent. How could she participate?"

"Maybe it's someone with the same name, or I misread it."

Since it was just a quick glance, Sophia became less confident and could only guess. Emily knew Bianca well. She wouldn't miss such an opportunity to gain fame.

So,Sophia probably didn't misread it.

Emily's eyes darkened, and she asked, "Do you know who the organizer is this time?"

"I do. It's someone named Louis Cox." Sophia, being passionate about painting, had heard of many famous artists.

But Louis was a painting enthusiast who didn't actually paint.

Emily raised an eyebrow.

What a coincidence.

Because he was a painting enthusiast, he often visited John. When she was asked to take on a student. he happened to be there and became curious about her skills.

He then became her fan after she painted a piece for him.

Since her rebirth, she hadn't contacted him.

"Alright, you don't need to see me off. Go take care of youar business. I'll contact you another day and introduce you to an old friend!"

Emily suddenly noticed someone peeking at her from the school gate. When she looked over, the person quickly hid.

Clearly, they were there for her. Emily paused and spoke to Sophia.

Sophia didn't doubt her and nodded. After saying goodbye to Emily, she turned and walked towards the teaching building.
