Chapter 66
The Reyes Villa.
"Mr. Smith, you don't have to wait for me. I might be a while. Plus, you need to go back and get some rest."
Emily spoke up before getting out of the car, hoping to avoid another incident like the one at the orphanage.
'Is she worried about me?'
Daniel met Emily's sincere gaze and held back a smile. "Alright."
Emily took a moment in the car.
Eli, like a cat sniffing out fish, approached again, eager to catch a glimpse of Daniel.
Emily smirked.
Not giving him the chance,
She quickly got out, shut the door, and had York drive away immediately.
Eli was left eating dust.
Emily was in a great mood and couldn't help but laugh
"You jerk!"
Eli was furious.
Emily shook her head playfully, raising her eyebrows in delight. "Emily, this is the Reyes Villa. How can you act so recklessly and make Dad this angry? You should apologize to him right away!"
Bianca arrived just then, scolding disapprovingly.
Emily glanced at her sideways. "Why are you everywhere?"
"How can you talk to Bianca like that? She's only trying to help you. She has a good relationship with Byron and thought she could help calm the Reyes family down. You're so ungrateful!"
Eli couldn't help but scold.
Emily rolled her eyes. "I don't need it!"
"You..."
"Alright, Dad, I don't mind. Don't scold Emily anymore. After all, we're at the Reyes Villa."
Bianca tried to mediate graciously.
Eli saw the Reyes family butler coming out and suppressed his anger, refraining from scolding further.
Eli had been here before, so the butler recognized him and went inside to announce their arrival.
Soon, the butler opened the door and led them in.
In the past, Isaac would have come out to greet them. Now, knowing Emily and Eli didn't get along, he didn't bother pretending.
So, he didn't come out to greet them.
Eli noticed the difference and was quite displeased. All because of Emily.
He couldn't help but glare at Emily again.
Once inside.
Isaac, who had been sitting, lit up when he saw Emily behind Eli and excitedly got up to greet her.
To Eli, it seemed Isaac was excited to see Bianca.
Bianca thought the same.
She proudly stepped forward, smiling. "Mr. Reyes, we're sorry about last time, so we brought Emly to apologize in person today."
Isaac's path to Emily was, blocked by Bianca stepping forward.
He glanced at Emily, puzzled by Bianca's words.
Emily mouthed silently,"My identity, keep it secret!"
Isaac immediately understood Emily's meaning.
He looked back at Bianca and nodded. "Really?I thought the Johnson family would pretend nothing happened!"
Bianca stiffened at Isaac's sarcastic words.
But she quickly adjusted.
Isaac's tone was a result of his anger. Eli quickly pulled Emily forward. "What are you standing there for? Apologize to Mr.Reyes!"
He smiled at Isaac. "Isaac, Emily was thoughtless. She's here to apologize in person. Please forgive her. If you want to punish her, I won't object."
Isaac could tell Eli didn't care about Emily at all.
Emily seemed to have really behaved since entering the Reyes Villa.
Eli told her to apologize, and she obediently stepped forward.
"Mr. Reyes, I'm from the Johnson family. My dad brought me to apologize in person.Sorry for the trouble."
Emily apologized obediently.
But Eli and Bianca frowned.
Something felt off.
They soon realized what it was.
Isaac understood Emily's intention.
"A father's failure to teach is his fault. Eli, you need to discipline your daughter better," he said.
Eli thought Isaac was softening and quickly nodded with a smile. "Yes, yes, don't worry. I'll make sure to educate her properly."
Bianca added, "Mr. Reyes, it's my fault for not guiding my sister well. I'll make sure to keep her in line."
Isaac nodded. "Good. Since Emily is from the Johnson family, there should be compensation for her mistake, right?" Eli's heart sank.
He had been tricked.
Isaac wasn't as easygoing as he seemed. He was waiting for this.
But Eli couldn't refuse now.
"Of course, Isaac. Whatever you need, just say it. We won't delay any compensation."
Eli suppressed his resentment and smiled.
But he was thinking that Emily had caused such a loss for the Johnson Group. She was only useful for an advantageous marriage.
James would go to Bianca, so he'd find another beneficial match for Emily.
Emily had no idea Eli was planning to sell her out.
"Alright, I think our current project should have an additional five percent, don't you?"
Isaac smiled.
Five percent was too high.
Eli hesitated, and after some back-and-forth, they settled on three percent.
Bianca, though not well-versed in business, understood the basic numbers.
She took the opportunity to lecture Emily. "Emily, because of your thoughtlessness, the Johnson Group will lose at least millions of dollars. And Dad, for your sake, agreed to such a big concession. Don't say he's biased. Stop messing around and come home, okay?" Home, to continue being her shadow?
Emily's expressiona remained indifferent. "If Dad could resolve it this way,why wait until now?"
It was because this loss was insignificant to the Johnson Group.
Bianca looked at Emily with feigned heartbreak. "Emily, why are you still so thoughtless? And do you think this is over? You still need to apologize to Byron and get his forgiveness for this to be truly resolved."
Emily intended to see Byron.
But Bianca was eager to see her humiliated.
"Mr. Reyes, how is Byron? Emily wants to apologize to him in person. Should I take her upstairs?"
Eli,having lost out, was in a foul mood.
He didn't expect Bianca to make this request.
He looked at her, puzzled and annoyed, whispering, "Isn't it over? Why bring this up?"
Bianca replied, "Dad, you don't think Mr. Reyes is done, do you? He cares about Byron. We need to show the right attitude. And it's rare for Emily to cooperate and come to the Reyes Villa."
Eli was convinced and agreed. "Let Emily apologize to your son in person. It might help Byron recover faster."
Isaac glanced at Emily, who nodded. He then agreed."Alright."
He led them to Byron's room.
"What happened?" Bianca exclaimed upon seeing the person in bed!
