Chapter 53

Samuel calmed his nerves and smiled at Hilda. "Don't think too much into it. She is nothing but a goddess in my heart."

Hilda didn't say further and just nodded. At the same time screams were heard as the people at the entrance started calling out Christopher's name.

"Chris,Chris,Chris..."

Since they arrived at the venue, Hilda hadn't seen the birthday celebrant. But hearing the people screaming his name out loud now,she knew he had appeared at the venue.

People started paving way for him to enter. Immediately Hilda caught sight of him, she nearly drooled at the sight of him.He looked more dashing in person than on TV. She thought.

Nathan who was standing at a corner was currently looking at his wife when he noticed her admiring another man. His gaze darkened.

Christopher who had just entered the hall looked around and his eyes fell on Hilda who was standing beside Samuel staring at him admiringly. He was stunned by her beauty.

He smiled and waIked towards them. Christopher who was an actor was also known for his love for women. News about him being a womanizer was always plastered on the news.

When he caught sight of Hilda, he knew he had never seen her

before but as a celebrity himself, he had been checking out all the juicy gossips. For the past months, news about Hilda had been trending in Taadi city as she was claimed to be a home wrecker and wanted to create havoc at her sister's wedding.

He was stunned at first when he caught sight of Hilda. She was looking stunning with her off shoulder cream dress.He knew she wasn't on his invited guest list so he was quite surprised as to how a girl from a second rate family could get to attend his party and was even standing beside Samuel.

When he stopped in front of Samuel and Hilda, Samuel reached out and hugged him. "Happy birthday brother." After hugging for her while, he turned and smiled at Hilda and introduced her to Christopher. "Chris, I'd like you to meet Miss Hilda Adams. You can call her Hilda. Hilda, I guess I don't have to introduce him to you."

Chris smiled and took Hilda's hand and kissed the back of her hand. "Nice to meet you Hilda. Welcome to my birthday party."

Hilda blushed at this act as she felt she couldn't breath being kissed by her celebrity crush. "My pleasure to meet you too.Happy Birthday." She said excitedly.

Nathan couldn't look on anymore as Chris was looking at Hilda like a rare jewel. He walked over and tapped him on the shoulder. "Happy birthday bro."

Chris hugged him and said. "Thank you brvh."

After thanking Nathan, Chris turned to Gloria andI joke."Miss

Gloria is back. I guess she was destined to be Mrs. Clemon after all."

As soon as Christopher said this, the other three's expression turned grim. Nathan's gaze darkened as he stare on Christopher and then moved his gaze to Hilda. Hilda already had her head lowered as she thought to herself. 'Maybe what Christopher said may be true. They are destined to be together forever. Hah, and what did I think? That Nathan would ever love me?'

Samuel had an awkward expression on as he looked between Nathan and Hilda. To him he thought, Nathan would be sure to kill someone today.

Gloria was the only one who was over the moon when she heard Christopher's words. She smiled and said. "Of course.I am the only one who could be Nathan's wife! Happy birthday Chris." She went ahead and hugged him too.

Hilda turned to Nathan expecting the latter to say something to refute Christopher's claim, but Nathan just stood there like he didn't care. To Nathan, he didn't care what other's think as Hilda was the only woman who could be his wife. But to Hilda she thought, hah why did he marry me then? I might as well prepare myself to be divorced soon.

Christopher then turned to Hilda. "Miss Hilda, would you do me the honor by dancing the first dance with me?"

Samuel froze after hearing Christopher's question. He tried to

signal Christopher that he was asking for the wrath of a lion as Nathan's gaze had darkened but Christopher was still not taking the bait.

He thought. oh God. please come to his aid and teach this morron a lesson. It seems like he doesn't want his party to continue anymore.

Hilda who was mad at Nathan for keeping mute after Christopher's comment was ecstatic as her celebrity crush was asking her to dance with him.

As she was about to reply, Nathan beat her to it and replied coldly on her behalf. "'She already has a date."

Hilda frowned after hearing what Nathan said. What did Nathan mean by she already had a date? He was already enjoying himself with Gloria and here he his trying to stop her from having some fun too her self.

She turned to Christopher with a bright smile."My date wouldn't mind me dancing the first dance with you. Or Samuel would you?"

Samuel was stomped by her sudden question as he thought,why would you two put me in between your fight. Samuel turned to look at Nathan whose gaze had darkened after Hilda pushed her question to him.

He laughed awkwardly. "Hahaha.. erm Chris, erm you know it wouldn't be a gentlemanly thing for you to snatch someone else's date right." As he was talking he was making eye contact

with Nathan but Chris didn't get the hint.

He held Samuel by the shoulder and said. "Don't worry.Just one dance."

After which he opened his palm for Hilda and said sweetly."Miss Hilda please."

Hilda turned to look at Nathan who had his arms in Gloria's grasp and placed her hand in Christopher's palm. She thought.You have your hand clasp in the hand of another woman right in front of your wife. You have no shame.

"Shall we?" Christopher asked as he gestured for Hilda who walked along side him.

When Nathan saw what was going to happen, he suddenly dropped a statement. "I will dance the first dance in your place buddy."

After saying that, Nathan let go of Gloria's hand and walked towards Christopher and Hilda. He took Hilda's hand from Christopher's grip and walked towards the center of the venue.

Christopher was stunned as to why Nathan would snatch his dance partner from him. He wanted to say something but Nathan and Hilda were already on the center stage.

All eyes were on Hilda and Nathan who were currently waiting for the music.

Nathan pinched Hilda's waist and lean towards her ears before

saying. "You are a married woman you shouldn't say yes to just any man."

Hilda sneered. "You are a married man but you are parading the venue with a lady in your arms. Have you no shame? So what right do you think you have to tell me what not to do?"

Nathan was stunned. It seemed like Hilda was angry but he thought otherwise as he thought he hadn't done anything wrong. He pinched her again on the waist. "I'm a man and you are a woman. There is a difference."

Nathan who was completely oblivious to the fact that Hilda was mad at him for keeping his silence earlier when Christopher passed that silly joke added salt to Hilda's wounds.

Hilda who was dancing in his arms missed a step and stepped on him when she heard his answer. "What did he mean by he is a man and me a woman?

So him being a man gives him the right to parade around the venue with a woman but it would be a crime for me to dance with the birthday celebrant. I never knew that the almighty CEO could be this unreasonable.

Hilda who was filled with rage completely after Nathan's remark was fuming with anger that she missed most of the dance steps and stepped on Nathan.

She cursed him inwardly. You jerk!

Nathan who had no idea what was going on in Hilda's mind

smirked and said. "You are a bad dancer."

Hilda's anger worsen as she began stepping on Nathan forgetting about the fact that they were still at the center of the stage and people had their eyes on them as they danced.
