Chapter 62

"Move! Move! Move!" The voice of the nurses could be heard as they pushed two stretchers each with a person on in the hospital corridor with great speed into the operating room.

On one of the stretcher was a man and the other was a woman.The woman had her eyes closed with an oxygen mask on without any external injury visible where as the man was badly injured with his head wounded and bleeding with blood dripping out. His shirt had dyed a blood red color with blood as he had wounds all over his body.

"Quick get the doctor here. He has lost a lot of blood hurry!"One of the nurses yelled inside the ICU as they were trying their best to save the man who was on the verge of death.

Meanwhile Samuel who had just gotten home heard his phone ringing when he was just about to eat the takeaway package he bought from outside. 'Who the hell would call me at this time.'He cursed under his breathe before reaching out for his phone.But upon seeing the caller Id he stood up hurriedly with a serious expression on and answered. "What is it?"

"Doc, I have been trying to reach you on the office number but I couldn't. There is an emergency here and the other doctor is still in surgery so we need you now." The person on the other line replied.

"Okay, I would be there." With that Samuel hurriedly took his car keys and walked out of his house with haste.

Half an hour later, Samuel hurriedly ran into his office and changed into his sterile surgical gown. He then proceeded to wash his hands,decontaminating his hands, and wore a pair of sterile gloves. After wards, he rushed into the ICU.

At that moment, the nurses and a doctor were already on with the first aid before surgery. He went over to help but the next thing was him rushing over to patient readily. 'Nathan?'

The man looked a lot like Nathan. Taking a closer look, he gripped the man's shoulders. "N- Na- Nathan?" He shuttered as he called out to him. How could this be? What happened?We were all in the bar earlier when he left so what happened?Countless thoughts ran through Samuel's mind as he held onto Nathan's shoulders.

He tried pattering him just to get him to wake up as he couldn't believe it. "Nathan, Nathan wake up. Wake up!" He yelled.

The other doctor and nurses in the ICU were shocked to their core when they saw how pale Samuel looked. He was really agitated. They hurriedly tried to pull him away. "Doc,you shouldn't be doing this we are in the middle of an operation."

"Doc, Doc...." The nurses tried to sound him out.

He snapped back to his senses after being irrational. 'I have to save Nathan. I can't let him die.' He thought.

"Cough, cough." He then coughed and apologized to the nurses and doctor. "My bad. Let's proceed." With that, he took charge of the surgery. But some few minutes into it, Samuel's eyes

became misty. Looking at the amount of blood Nathan wvas losing and how is heart was palpitating, he became nervous.He couldn't bring him self to continue the operation.

His hands were shaking so much that he couldn't even hold any of the surgical instruments.

"Doctor Samuel, please let me continue wwith the surgery. Wait outside. We gonna be done soon." The doctor came over and held his hand ushering him out because of his initial reaction when he saw the patient. But he shook his head.

"No, no.. no. I have to save N- Nathan." He stuttered as he stared at Nathan who was lying on the bed unconscious.

The nurses and doctor in the operating room where all moved to tears as they had never seen Samuel acting this fragile.Samuel had always been full of smilesat work. But looking at him who looked like he could break down at any minute, they all had a look of sadness in their eyes.

At this moment, the other doctor had finished with his surgery and had come to join them in the operating room.

"What's going on here?" As soon as he entered, he noticed his co doctor had held onto Samuel trying to get him out of the operating room.

"Samuel, doctor Greece is here so you might as well take a break out there. We would continue with the surgery now."The doctor in the operating room with Samuel tried to sound him out.

Samuel looked at Nathan who was lying on the operating room table with all kinds of tubes inserted into him and his tears slide down his cheeks.

The other doctor who had just walked in rushed over to Samuel when he noticed that he was shedding tears. "Sammy,are you alright?"

Samuel held onto his hands and looked into his eyes and in a desperate tone he spoke up while stuttering. "Gr.. Greece, I would leave Nathan Clemon into your hands. Please savehim."Sob.Sob.

Samuel's tears streamed down his face. He had never shed tears even in his most desperate moments. But looking at Nathan who was lying on the operating table half dead,he couldn't bring himself to stop his tears.

Nathan had been with him since they were young. Never in his wildest moment had he thought that there would be a day were he would have to perform a surgery to save him.

Nathan's life was on the line at this time. He turned and took a look at him once again. Who would have thought that Nathan would end up like this just after leaving the club earlier.

Thinking about the reason why Nathan was at the club and the way he looked when he left, he couldn't help but grit his teeth. "That d*mn woman! I would never let her off if anything happens to Nathan. I swear!"

He spoke through gritted teeth before turning to walk out of

the operating room leaving the other doctors to continue.

Doctor Greece who was about to reply to Samuel was stunned when he heard from him that the person lying on the table half dead was Nathan Clemon. The other nurses and doctor was also stunned.

Who would have thought that the person lying on the table was Nathan Clemon himself? The man who was feared by everyone. They wasted no time in continuing with the surgery.
