Chapter 96

"What the hell did you think you were about to do?" Daniel hurriedly pushed Hilda out of the way. Causing both her and Debbie who had held onto her to stagger a few steps back.losing their balance, they fell back down onto the cold hard floor.

"Ouch!" They hissed in pain. Since they both hadn't seen the push coming, they fell so hard that they were in pain.

Hilda stood up hurriedly and help Debbie up from the floor.Just when she was about to call out on Daniel's behavior, they all heard the sound of hurried footsteps coming in their direction.

The footsteps seemed to be for more than two people. Turning to the direction of the entrance of the bridal shop, she was greeted with the sounds of a series of foot steps walking into the shop.

Initially, Sonnia and the others had a hunch that it was their special guest who had an appointment with them that had arrived.

Nevertheless, their gut instincts were proven wrong seconds later when a muscular middle aged man emerged with a dozen of his subordinates following suit.

This stern face police officer was Emmet Reils, the police captain of the investigation unit. Sonnia and the Debbie frowned. Where as the others just stared on confused.

Daniel walked up to them with a big smile reaching his ears as he said respectfully. "Here comes our mighty police captain."He reached out to shake hands with Emmet Reils.

Emmet's sudden appearance was like a silver of hope for Carmen as she had been itching to put Sonnia in her place.So as to tell her who is in control now.

The crowd also murmured among themselves as they thought that Sonnia wouldn't be able to get herself out of this.

"Oh, the police is finally here!" Mrs. Stephenson cried out desperately.

The Stephenson had been known to abuse their power when it comes to dealing with their enemies. Now that Sonnia had stepped on their toes, and they were acquainted with the Police Captain, some where sure she was doom.

Others felt pity for her whiles others thought she deserved it for how she behaved towards the Stephenson's earlier.

With tears in her eyes, Mrs. Stephenson dashed for Carmen and pulled her towards Emmett with tears streaming down her face.

The sight of Mrs. Stephenson running towards him with a girl in her hands caused a look of confusion to flit across Emmett's face. It took him several moments before he realized that the disheveled girl before him with Mrs. Stephenson was the bride to be of acquaintance Daniel.

Emmett knitted his brows together and asked. "Mrs.Stephenson, what happened to you?"

Immediately, Mrs. Stephenson replayed the incident to Emmett.However, she sneakily twisted the story to paint Sonnia as the villain. She then pointed a trembling finger at Sonnia. "Captain.she hauled insults at us and pushed Carmen hard onto the cold hard floor. She even raised her hands on me, if not for the fact that the shop manager held her back, I don't know if I will be standing here at this time. Please take the necessary actions needed against that barbarian."

Truthfully, Emmett had noticed the presence of Sonnia and Debbie at the start. But what he hadn't imagined was that they were the once in trouble. Like he never thought about Sonnia being unreasonable, where as his own girlfriend being arrogant.

Although Emmett appeared as cool as a cucumber,a raging storm was brewing inside of him. I can't believe the Stephenson's have audacity to stir up so much trouble. They even provoked my girlfriend and Sonnia. Do they have a death wish?

"Alright, I will deal with this situation according to the law."Emmett replied calmly.

Immediately, Carmen whirled around to give Sonnia a smug grin. You brat, you will be facing dire consequences of your actions now.

As Carmen watched on expectantly, Emmet instructed his subordinates. "Lock up the culprits. They are under arrest for

causing public nuisance and violence."

"Yes,Captain."

Promptly, two police men stepped forward and restrained Carmen before snapping a pair of hand cuff over her wrists.

Carmen's smug expression morphed into one of shock.

After a few moments, she finally regained her senses. "You've got the wrong person! Captain Emmett, you should be arresting that brat instead..."

Before she could finish, Emmett interjected solemnly. "Stop yelling nonsense. You are the culprit here. Along my journey, I was already notified of the events that transpired here.Although Sonnia spoke back at you, she was speaking facts!You and Mrs. Stephenson have been accused of endangering public safety. And that push, we all know. Hence, I am detaining you under the law."

What? Carmen, Mrs. Stephenson and Daniel stared at Emmett in a mixture of shock and surprise.

They could not wrap their heads around the entire situation.Didn't Daniel communicate with him before his arrival? To be more specific, he did call Captain Reils to get his help. On the phone, he laughed and agreed with whatever he said and agreed to help. So why isn't he helping us now but the others?Instead of offering his assistance, he rather cuffed Carmen!

Whiles Carmen and the rest were stunned at the change in

how things took. Emmett walked over to greet Sonnia nad Debbie. "Miss Sonnia. Debbie. I hope the both of you are well?"

Right away, realization dawned on them. They must hail from a strong background. Even Captain Reils opted to side with them instead of us, Mrs. Stephenson thought. Where as Carmen and Daniel who knew Sonnia's background were confused.

Unable to restrain her anger, Mrs. Stephenson shrieked angrily."So you all know each other? Were you in cahoots this entire time? You ahles are all equally despicable. This is unacceptable!I want to raise a complaint against...."

"Silence!" Emmett retorted with a fierce growl. "I made sure to understand the situation before I arrested you."

Mrs. Stephenson pale face quickly flushed red with fury.Nevertheless, Daniel beat her to it. "Enough Mother!"

"You can't do this Emmett. It might have just been a small misunderstanding among women. There is no need to..."

Daniel didn't even complete his sentence when Emmett snorted and ordered. "Take them away."

Daniel had his mouth wide open when he was cut off by Emmett. He couldn't believe it.

Following orders, the police officers escorted Carmen and Mrs.Stephenson into the police van outside.

"Daniel?" Carmen called out.

"My son?" Mrs. Stephenson also followed suit.

Daniel had never imagined this turns of event. "Don't worry,you will be fine." He responded as he watched them take Carmen and Mrs. stephenson into the police van.*
