Chapter 69

Hilda rushed with freshening up and walked out of the house calling Stanley immediately. Stanley who had second thoughts about Gloria was trying his best to hack into Gloria's phone but couldn't, wiped the sweat beaded on his forehead and sighed.

He knew for a fact that what Dennis said might be true but he brushed him off as they were in the hospital at that time.Gloria had once done his boss bad and he knew for sure that she could repeat it.

"Who should I even get to get into her firewall." He thought.Just when he had given up since he didn't want people knowing in that he was investigating Gloria, his phone rang.

"Hello, Mrs. Clemon." He answered.

"I'm heading for the hospital now. Wait for me outside as you said." Hilda said from the other end of the phone.

"Mrs. Clemon, erm, Mr. Fleming is a little against you coming over. Did you by any chance do anything to piss him off?"Stanley stuttered as he spoke.

Hilda thought back to earlier when she was speaking to Samuel on the phone. It seemed like he hated her. No it didn't seem.He spoke to her with voice full of hatred and as if she had done something bad. But she couldn't seem to recall how she had angered him.

"Hello, Mr. Clemon, are you still there? Mrs. Clemon, did you by any chance do anything.?" When Stanley didn't hear Hilda s response,he thought Hilda might have done something.

Hilda then spoke up after some time. "Don't worry. I didn't do anything to get him angered. It should be just a little misunderstanding. Don't worry about that. I would be there in fifteen minutes. Get everything set like we discussed. And I would take care of Mr. Fleming"

Stanley wasn't convinced by her. "Mrs. Clemon, how about you wait a little while as the Clemon family members are still here.I would be sure to update you on anything that goes down on here. What do you think about that?" Stanley tried to sound her out.

"How do you expect me to sit and wait for news on Nathan? I am his wife. I have to be there with him at this time. Me being at home isn't doing me any good. It is just getting me more agitated. How, how...." Hilda's voice broke as she spoke. She tried her best to hold her tears but she couldn't.

When Stanley heard Hilda's voice breaking, he couldn't bring himself to refuse her. He had noticed their interactions these pass few weeks and he knew for a fact that it would be difficult to be in Hilda's shoes at this time. "Mrs. Clemon, I would be waiting for you at the parking lot then." He finally gave in to her. After all, she is his boss's legally married wife.Which also makes her his boss.

"Okay." Hilda wiped the tears on her face and then replied

before hanging up. After which she sat in her car, started the engine and the car revved out of Nathan's residence.

Meanwhile outside Kiki Bees Club, Daniel's car came to an abrupt stop. Daniel got down from the car hurriedly because he knew that Mr. Rex would be here no matter what so he was in a hurry to go see whether he is with Hilda or not. As for Carmen, when she got down, she exhaled as she couldn't wait to watch the drama that was about to unfold. To her, she thought Daniel would despise Hilda after seeing her with Mr.Rex.

She went ahead and held Daniel by the hand both taking hurried steps into the club.

On the highway headed for the hospital, Hilda's car was moving at top speed so much that it felt like the car was flying. She was in a hurry to see Nathan as she was so desperate. She kept praying for Nathan to wake up as soon as possible as he could.

Tears made way into her eyes threatening to fall at any moment but she forced herself not to make them fall. She then begun to disparage herself when the tears fell.

"Why am I so weak, why? Why? Why?" The tears fell like a rain splattering all across her cheeks.

"Nathan needs me now. Why am I this weak." She kept hitting the steering wheel not being herself not looking on the road ahead. At that one moment, she saw the lights of a tipper truck aiming directly at her. She hurriedly swerved by turning the steering wheels to the other side of the road, making her trip all the way down the hill.

She went down, all the way down with the car summersaulting. With her voice sounding out ... "Aahhh, aahh, ahhh." The car came to a stop after some time. So as her voice.

The driver of the tipper truck stepped on his brakes hard at the moment he saw Hilda's car lights. He hurriedly got down and headed for the down hill where Hilda's car ended up.

He looked left and right and then down but couldn't see any one just the scrapes of the car here and there. He then shouted."Hey!" He waited but there was no reply.

"Anyone?" He waited and did again but still, there was no reply. He hurriedly took out his phone and called for an ambulance.

Meanwhile, Stanley was moving up and down outside the hospital entrance waiting for Hilda to show up but there was still no sign of her. He tried reaching out to her but her phone was off. He then called the bodyguard who had been situated in the house to check on Hilda and he was told that she had left home about an hour ago.

He panicked. Where would she be at at this time. It is less

than forty five minutes to get to the hospital from Nathan's residence even if it was a rush hour but here she is still not here afteran hour. He was panicking and the thought about Nathan's enemies getting to her hit him. Just when he was about to call Hilda again, he heard one of the nurses shout."There has been an accident just along the road to the hospital. An ambulance is required immediately."

When he heard the nurse. his heart missed a beat. The first thing he thought about was Hilda again. She was heading for the hospital and still not being here after an hour. Could it be that it wasn't Nathan's enemies that has gotten to her but then she has met with an accident?

When the ambulance was leaving. He called Hilda once again. And when he couldn't reach her, he decided to follow them hoping it wasn't Hilda.

He was anxious as he thought about the possibility of it being Hilda's car which was involved in the accident. He followed the ambulance all the way to the location of the incident. When he got there, he saw police cars parked already trying to go down the hill and search for the person involved in the accident.

One of the nurses recognized him from the hospital and asked him what he doing there. "Mr. Stanley, what are you doing here?"

"Nothing, I just heard about the accident and I was thinking about how I could be of help." He lied.

"Don't worry. You do not have to bother. The police men are already working on it."

"Oh, it is no bother. Anyways which car got involved in the accident?" He slyly asked.

"I heard it was a sports car." The nurse replied.

When Stanley heard it was a sports car, his heart skipped another beat. Mrs. Clemon drives a sports car too.

"The tipper truck driver said either the driver was drunk or sleeping because who ever he or she would be deviated from their lane and ended up in his..."

Stanley didn't wait for the nurse to finish when he rushed to the tip where the car slipped..

"Mr. Stanley, where are you going?" The nurse called behind him but he wasn't bordered to look back.

When he got to where the car slipped down the hill, he overheard one of the police men saying, whoever was in the car wouldn't make it. The car was scrapped to an unrecognizable state.

He hurried down the hill only to come to an abrupt stop."That.. that is Mrs. Clemons car.." He stuttered to himself before rushing closer.

When he got closer, he found himself close to tears. As it was dark, the police men had touches but he didn't so he couldn't

really see clearly what was going on but was able to recognize the car because he was the same person who cleared it for Mr.Fleming.

He was about to go closer when one police man shouted."The car is about to explode everyone move out now!"

He quickly run up the hill and in a split second. the car exploded.

He became stomped. He couldn't bring himself to say anything just staring at the blazing fire looking dead. 'Mrs. Clemon can't be dead. That was the only thing going through his mind.
