Chapter 76

"Is Nathan awake?" The Patriarch of the Clemon family asked sadly.

"No dad." Said Mr. Clemon. Nathan's dad.

"So then why are you here? You should be with him at this time. So what are you doing being here?"

"Dad. I came to check on you."

"There is no need. You should be with your wife now.And find out who ever did this to my grandson." He said coldly.

"But dad you are also not well. I came to check up on you.Nathan will be fine."

"So would I. So just go."

Mr. Clemon was shocked about how his dad was talking to him but he knew for a fact that his dad's favorite grandson was his son so he might be hurt inside and does not want to be seen being weak.

"Alright. I will leave you now. But Nathan is just two rooms from you. You can also come see him."

With that said Mr. Clemon walked out of his dad's ward.

The Patriarch stared at the back of his son as he walked out of his room and a faint image of Nathan came into view.Without knowing, he called out. "My favorite grandson." As he called

out, Mr. Clemon was already out of the door.

Tears threatened to fall out his eyes. To him,who ever did this was after Nathan's power. But who else would be so formidable to go after his favorite grandson if not his own son.He knew for a fact that the power struggle in the company was not anything Nathan didn't have under his control but how could all this happen just in a blink of an eye.

It started with Gloria. His men reached out to him about Gloria being in danger and then Nathan went to the rescue and then here he his completely comatose.

He loved Gloria very much and would want her to be Nathan's wife but Gloria had caused Nathan pain before so he would not be surprised if she had a hand in this.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me.There ain't no way this was just a random accident. He was really sure there is something wrong somewhere as Gloria had yet to spend a month in the country and she was already being the target of assassinations'.

He called onto his most trusted subordinate who had been guarding his door all this while.

"Collin!"

"Yes sir." Collin responded as he walked into his boss's ward.

"How is it going? Did you do what I asked you to?" The Patriarch asked as he tried to get off the bed.

Collin walked up to his bed to help him get off when and then replied "Yes sir. The lawyers would be here when no one least expects."

"What about the other one? How is it going with the investigation?"

"I found out something more surprising sir."

He turned to look as him as he said coldly. "What could be more surprising enough than my own grandson's accident?Now tell me what you found out about Gloria and all her interactions as she came to the country. What ever you think might be surprising can wait till later as I need to see to my grandson first."

"I did my investigations but it seems like there is someone more powerful behind her. All her interactions are mostly being wiped out. It is more like all her movements were ghost moves. There isn't a single CCTV camera in the country that had captured her anywhere in the city. The only place she is seen is mostly in her apartment, office and the Clemon residence. Aside this places, where she spends most of her time seems to be totally wiped out. When it comes to the camera's in the city where she had her interactions, they were either faulty or no camera at all."

The Patriarch frowned the more he listened to his subordinate.What did he mean by all of Gloria's movements-are all ghost movement. How come she had alI her appointments at ghost ends? Something didn't seem right.

"What the hell is going on?" The Patriarch asked coldly.

"This is suppose to be the country were the big four run things so were the hell are the others that they are not taking action against whoever did this?" The Patriarch went on to ask angrily. To him he knows nothing can go on in the country without Nathan.Christopher. Kyle and Samuel having a clue about it.

What have they been occupied with this past few months that they completely forsake their safety?

Collin didn't know if this was the right time to speak up as the Patriarch was really on rage. He took some few steps back whiles contemplating what to tell the Patriarch when the Patriarch asked again. "So where is Chris, Samuel and Kyle at the moment? Are they back from where they all ran to?"

"Samuel and Kyle are in Samuel's office currently but Christopher excused himself to go and tend to some important matters. He will be here shortly."

"So why are they not investigating what went on the days before? Do they not care about Nathan?" The Patriarch slammed his hand on a near by table beside him.

"Sir, that was what I had wanted to tell you earlier and...."Collin shut up immediately after he locked gaze with the Patriarch who was staring at him eyes so cold.

"What the hell are you waiting for? Tell me what you have been wanting to tell me."

Collin knew for a fact that the Patriarch was saddened by the fact that his favorite grandson was still lying down half dead that was why he was a little agitated. He hurried to explain.

"There is a woman." That was all Collin said.

The Patriarch did not understand what he meant by that so he just stared at him confused. "What do you mean by there is a woman?"
