Chapter 64

How dare she call me after what she had done.' Samuel thought with an enraged expression on. He gritted his teeth and asked indifferently in a cold tone. "How did you get my number?"

"Nathan gave it to me. He asked me to call you whenever I couldn't reach out to him when it is urgent." Hilda spoke from the other end of the line.

"So what now? Are you calling to find out if he is dead and not? I swear, if anything happens to Nathan. I would never let you off believe me on this." Samuel threatened.

Hilda was stomped by the sudden aggressive and threatening tone of Samuel and most importantly his words."Wha.. wh..what do you mean by if something happens to Nathan?" She stuttered.

To Samuel. she was pretending to know nothing. His voice got more colder as he threatened yet again. "I would never let you off if anything happens to Nate. Pray he survives or else,you would know why no one dares to cross me." He hanged up immediately afterwards not giving Hilda any chance to say anything.

Hilda who was currently in the living room was stomped as she started feeling desperate. What did Samuel mean by that?Did something happen to Nathan? What's going on? What should I do? She was distressed as she paced up and down

not knowing what to do.

She tried calling Nathan's number again again but still the mechanical voice keeps telling her it couldn't be reached. She found her eyes becoming moist as she thought about the possibility of something happening to Nathan.

'But that is impossible. Nathan just went to save Gloria from...That was when it hit her. Nathan went to save Gloria earlier.Did something bad happen? But why did Samuel threaten her?

All kinds of thoughts were running through her head and then she immediately reached for her phone. She then dialed a number.

Stanley who had received the news about what had happened to his boss was currently on his way to the hospital as he prayed that nothing happens to his boss. Although Nathan was known as the devil, he who has been with him since he took over the Clemon Group knew that underneath that cold and ruthless face, there was a heart full of gold.

His phone suddenly rang. He picked it up and noticed it was Hilda. He hurriedly answered as he knew how important Hilda was to Nathan. "Hello Mrs. Clemon..."

"Stanley, have you heard from your boss? I have been calling him but can't reach him. Can you tell me if something is wrong?" Hilda asked allthis in a single breath as she was nervous. She wanted to believe that Nathan was alright but with what Samuel said, she knew for sure that something was

up.

"Mrs. Clemon, Mr. Clemon was met with an accident earlier when he went to save Miss Gloria. He is currently at the hospital and I'm on my way there." Stanley replied in a wobbly voice.

Hilda's face turned pale with panic as she slumped down onto the ground. She was petrified. She stood motionless on the line without saying a word.

Stanley who was on the other end of the line was flustered as Hilda was silent on the line. He could hear her breathe. She was breathing at a fast rate. At this, he became frightened."Mrs. Clemon? Hello..?"

There was still no response. He started thinking about the worse happening to Hilda, he started cursing himself in his head. I shouldn't have told her that. "Mrs. Clemon, you still on the line?"

Hilda who couldn't find her voice had tears falling down her cheeks as she tried her best not to seem weak. In a weak voice,she spoke up. "I'm still here. How come? How did it happen"

Stanley felt his heart broken when he heard Hilda's voice and how she was trying her best for him to not hear her crying. "Mrs. Clemon, I don't have any idea yet. I am now on my way to the hospital. I would be sure to let you in on anything I find."

"Which hospital? I would meet you up there now." Hilda got

up from the ground rushing into the bedroom to get changed.

Stanley panicked. He would want Hilda to be with his boss as they are married now but he knew for a fact that it would be a disaster if she was at the hospital this time. "Mrs. Clemon, I do not think that that is a good idea." Stanley said hurriedly.

Hilda who was rushing up the stairs halted her steps. "What do you mean? Stanley, that's my husband. If I can't be there when he is hurt where else can I be?"

"Mrs. Clemon, that's not what I meant. I.. I.. I.." Stanley didn't know how to convince her. He knew it would be bad if he says what he had in mind. Although Hilda is married to his boss.it is only a few people who knows about their marriage.

"There is nothing for me to understand. You need to tell me which hospital he is at now." Hilda ordered him.

"Mrs. Clemon, it is not like I do not want to tell you which hospital he is been admitted at but because, the members of the Clemon family would be there and you know your marriage his still a secret. It would be bad for them to find out about it under this condition. I would be sure to keep you updated on Mr. Clemon. For now, just stay at home and wait for my call."Stanley hurriedly explained.

Hilda who was already in the master's bedroom paused for some time before smiling bitterly. Who would have thought that because I decided to hide my marriage, I wouldn't be able to be with Nathan when he needed me the most. She thought.

She inhaled deeply before replying to Stanley in a some what weak tone. "Okay. Be sure to keep me dated. You wouldn't want me to be calling you non stop."

Stanley exhaled deeply when he heard Hilda's reply. He knew it was already hard for her so he just responded with an "'Okay." and then hanged up.

Hilda slumped dowvn on the bed in the bedroom and started weeping as she called out to Nathan. "Nathan, please get better soon. I love you soo much. I can't loose you now that I found love with you too. Dear God. please save my Nathan." She sobbed on the bed.
