Chapter 65

Stanley soon arrived at the hospital. He hurriedly walked into the corridor where he was greeted with the sight of every one sitting motionless or standing with their gazes on the operating room door.

He hurriedly greeted Mr. and Mrs. Clemon. "Sir. Ma'am."

Mrs. Clemon looked at him and turned away, where as Mr.Clemon nodded his head at him.

He then walked to Samuel who was back and was sitting on the ground with Christopher and Kyle standing beside him."Mr. Fleming. Mr. Michel, Mr. Anderson." He greeted all three of them but none of them turned to look at him or spare him a single glance.

He then noticed that the atmosphere was a little chilly as everyone had a serious expression on. He then began to think about his boss. He had no idea how serious the incident was.All he knew was his boss was met with an accident earlier when he went to save Miss Gloria. I hope Mr. Clemon is aIright.I hope it is nothing serious. He silently prayed.

He had wanted to inquire about the situation from them but from they way things were, he knew not to.

Time went by quickly and there was still no news from the doctors. Mrs. Clemon started to panic. She turned to Samuel with anxiousness written all over her face. "Samuel, how about you go inside and check out on Nathan? You are also a doctor,

and he always says you are his personal doctor. It has been hours and still there isn't any news on him."

Samuel also wanted to go inside to check out on Nathan but he knew better to let the other doctors work on him as he might just delay the surgery. "Aunty Leah, don't worry. The doctor's would be out soon. I'm sure they are almost done.Let's just wait for a few more minutes." Samuel replied with a forced smile.

"But they have been in there for so long and yet they ain't saying anythingto us. You should go in now." Mrs. Leah didn't want to wait on the doctor's anymore. She just wanted Samuel to go in and check up on Nathan as she believed with Samuel, Nathan would be just fine. No friend would watch his brother die. She knew Samuel wouldn't.

Samuel tried sounding her out but she wasn't taking any. He tried to get Mr. Clemon to speak up for him too but it seems that Mr. Clemon also wanted to find out what was really going on with Nathan and the doctor's in the operating room.

"How about you just go make sure everything is going well?"Mr. Clemon spoke up.

Samuel didn't have the heart to reject them so he just nodded and stood up heading towards the operating room.

He had barely taken four steps when the operating room door was pushed opened from inside. T'he doctor's walked out.Each with a tired expression written across his face.

He breathed a sign of relief and said. "See, they are out."

Mrs. Clemon rushed to the doctor. "Doctor pleaase how is my son?"

The doctor exhaled and explained. "He is out of danger now but he is in a coma. He had a few broken ribs and a broken leg."

Everyone was relieved when they heard what the doctor said except for Mr. Richard. His face turned cold for a second and then he put on an harmless smile. "Can we see him now? We are all worried."

"For now, I am not sure. The nurses are cleaning him up. He would be sent to a ward where you can see him." The doctor replied.

"Okay." Mrs. Clemon replied.

"Excuse me then." The doctor excused himself and walked away.

Kyle who was standing at the side with his body leaning on the wall had his eyes on Mr. Richards all this while. His deep set of eyes locked contact with Mr. Richard when he turned around.

Mr. Richard panicked when he noticed how Kyle was studying him. He put on his harmless smile and nodded at Kyle before turning away.

Kyle remained emotionless with a poker face without saying anything. Although he suspected a foul play in this accident,he knew for sure that Mr. Richard had a hand in this as he was the only one to benefit if Nathan wasn't in the way.

Hilda who has been waiting at home was feeling rather anxious after not hearing from Stanley all this while. She had not calmed down ever since Stanley had told her about the accident. She just wanted to go to the hospital and check for her self how Nathan was doing but she knew for a fact that his family would be there.

'What would they say when I appear as Nathan's wife? Gloria would also be there.' She had so many thoughts going through her mind that she became distraught. She wanted to call Stanley and ask as it had been hours and still no news from him.

She took out her phone and was about to dial Stanley's number but she was shilly-shally. She didn't know if he was in the mist of the elder's of the Clemon family. As she was hesitating, her phone rang in her hands.

She looked at the caller Id and hurriedly answered. "Hello,how is Nathan doing?" She asked in a hysterical tone.

"Mrs. Clemon, please calm down." Stanley spoke from the other end of the line.

He then proceeded to explain. "The doctor said Mr. Clemon is out of danger now but he has a few broken ribs and a leg

broken."

Hilda felt heart broken when she heard what Stanley said.With teary eyes and a choked voice, she asked. "I want to come and see him. Can I come and see him?"

Stanley became stiff when he heard Hilda's request. He turned to look around and his eyes subconsciously landed at the far end of the corridor on the other end where the Clemon family member's were standing.

He gulped down. And hurriedly rejected her. "Mrs. Clemon, I don't think it is a good idea. The Clemon family member's are here and it wouldn't turn out good if they learn Mr. Clemon got married secretly."

"But you do not expect me to just sit around here when Nathan is admitted at the hospital with injuries. I am his wife."Hilda explained desperately.

Sweat beaded Stanley's forehead when he heard Hilda's desperate voice. He knew Hilda was worried about her husband but it would be bad if the Clemon family found out about her. Thinking hard, he smiled as if he had thought of something and voiced out his opinion to her.

"How about.... I would tell you when later. I would be waiting for you at the entrance later then." Stanley assured her.

"Alright. Be sure to get back to me on time." Hilda replied before hanging up. She had tears streaming down her cheeks as she thought about Nathan. 'I got to be strong for him.'She

thought. She wiped her tears with the back of her hand and headed into her room to freshen up.
