Chapter 55

When Hilda finally saw Nathan's Maybach parked close by after they arrived at the harbor,she breathe in a sigh of relief.

As they hadn't come in the same car together, Hilda thought Gloria would join her own car but to her surprise she heard Gloria saying shyly to Nathan. "Nate, I forgot to call my driver,can you drop me off at my place?"

Hilda's heart sank when she heard this. She knew for sure that there was no way Nathan would say no to this as it was already dawn. She watched at Gloria opened the passenger seat and sat down.

She smiled bitterly, an ex- fiancée rides shortgun and her the wife was suppose to sit in the back seat. Hilda was totally enraged. Her sleepiness had been banished by all what Gloria was doing.

She wanted to scream. 'No, I won't allow you to sit in front. It is either I sit in front or I'm not riding with you two.'But looking around, she found that Samuel was long gone after saying their bye's earlier and only Nathan's car was left.

Nathan opened the back door for Hilda after Gloria got in the passenger seat. Standing next to the door,he stretched out his right hand towards the door in a gesture of invitation as a sign of chivalry.

Hilda was totally enraged by the fact that he allowed Gloria to seat in the front seat whiles he opened the back seat for her.

She ignored him and opened the back seat door on the other side and got in.

Only then did Nathan notice that his wife was in a bad mood.He walked around the car and craned his head into the car and asked. "Are you okay?"

Hildaclosed her eyes and replied in a cold tone. "I'm okay.Just sleepy."

"Okay. Well, I would drop you off after dropping off Gloria."After he said that, he opened the driver's seat and sat down.

Hilda watched him as he started the car and sighed, He didn't understand her at all. The car speed down the road in the darkness. Sitting in the back seat, Hilda looked outside the window blankly, and wide awake.

The head lights of the other cars knifed through the gloom.Gloria who was in the passenger seat was striking up conversations with Nathan. It bothered Hilda so much that she wanted to stuff her ears.

Nathan didn't voice out much and only responded when he had to. He didn't seem all that perturbed by the situation but he never embarrassed Gloria by allowing awkward silence.

After a while, the car slowed down as it approached a large,fancy housing community. 'This must be where Gloria lives.'Hilda thought.

There were ten floors in each building. The skyseraper made

Hilda wonder whether she really deserves to be Nathan's wife?They came from two different world.

When the car came to a halt. Gloria was ready to get out when Nathan offered. "Wait up. It is dark and not safe for you to walk alone. I will walk you to your door."

Hilda was fed up with Nathan as she cursed Nathan inwardly.'You son of a b*tch! Is she your wife or am I your wife? Why do you care so much about her? Her building is right there!Only a heart beat from the car so how dangerous can it be?!There are even security guards patrolling the area,you jerk!.'

"Okay. Thank you Nate." Gloria said gratefully.

Nathan looked back at Hilda who was in the back seat only to notice she was fast asleep. She sat straight with her head on the seat and eyes closed. He assumed that she was fast asleep so not wanting to wake her up, he got down from the car without waking her up.

Hilda waited for Nathan for more than twenty minutes but there was still no sign of him. She was so furious that she started laughing. 'This b*stard is sleeping with her again. Hah!I guess they probably didn't have enough pleasure at the party.'

She wanted to explode as she was consumed by rage but she knew she couldn't bring herself to do that in front of Nathan.

Staying in the car was impossible as she didn't know when Nathan would be done with his pleasure.

She got out angrily and walked towards the entrance of the

community. Ten minutes later, her phone rang. Looking at the caller Id,it was Nathan. She sneered and picked it up. "Mr.Clemons, your ex-fiancée got in alright?"

"Where are you at?" Nathan didn't bother replying and asked.

"What did you expect? I left of course. Or you expected me to have stayed until you two are done havingS∗X?Or no,no,gone upstairs and watched how good you make her feel in bed?"Hilda blurted furiously.

For a moment, the other end of the line was silent. "Gloria is but just my ex- fiancée. Don't over think it." Nathan finally spoke.

"Huh?! Ex fiancée? I'm overthinking it you say? Mr. Clemon,think about what you did and ask yourself why I am mad!"Hilda replied sarcastically.

Nathan ignored her sarcasm and asked again. "Where are you at?" He wanted to explain everything in person.

"Don't bother to look for me." After saying that, Hilda hanged up.

Since it was a high end area, it was situated at a remote location. At that hour, there were few cars on the road but no taxi could be seen. Hilda attempted to call a taxi through an app on her phone. But as soon as she unlocked her phone,Nathan called again.

She hanged up on him and logged on to the app but Nathan

called again. He kept calling and interrupting her so much that she gave up on trying to get a ride.

Frustrated and angry, Hilda sat on the curb, glaring at the road.Then her phone rang again. It was Nathan again. This time she answered it and yelled angrily into the speaker. "Mr.Clemons, I never knew you were this thick skinned to keep calling my number like that. When you call someone and the person doesn't want to answer your call, it means that they do not want to talk to you. Get it?"

Nathan's patience run out and his face darkened. He was about to reply when he caught sight of a familiar figure sitting on the curb by the road side. He hung up the phone without saying a word.

Looking at her phone after Nathan hung up, Hilda smiled bitterly. 'This is unbelievable. How could he hung up on me like that? She thought to herself.

Soon a car drove over. Hilda stood up from the ground.The head lights were so glaring that she had to close her eyes and turn her head away whiles walking back wards. When the car stopped beside her, she recognized it to be Nathan's Maybach.

Nathan stepped out of the car, walked over to her and pulled her into his arms fiercely.

"Let goof me!" She tried to wriggle herself from his grasps but it was of no avail.

"Why are you doing this?" Nathan asked Hild as he didn't

understand her.

No woman had dared to act so difficult and so determine to have their own way. And on the other hand, he didn't understand what the woman was so furious about. To him, he thought she was just being so unreasonable.

"Why? You know why right? How dare I right?" Her sarcasm made Nathan think it was time for her to chillax.

Silently. Nathan tucked Hilda into the car and then buckled her seat belt after which he closed the door before striding to the driver's seat. But Hilda wasn't staying in the car silently. She had wanted to unfasten the seat belt when Nathan entered and locked the doors.

Neither of them spoke during the ride until when they were almost home when Nathan finally broke the silence. "If you are angry because of Gloria, then you don't have to be."

However, Hilda didn't reply him completely ignoring his presence, she closed her eyes and moved into a more comfortable position on her seat. She needed rest.
