Chapter 112

Sophia Laurent's lips curled into a mocking smile as she heard the voice on the phone.

She couldn't be bothered to entertain Gabrielle Winston's provocation and turned to leave.

"Stop!" Gabrielle rushed forward and grabbed her wrist.

"Did I say you could go?"

A flash of malice crossed Gabrielle's eyes as she suddenly raised her hand to strike Sophia's face.

"What good is that face of yours besides seducing men?"

Sophia had anticipated this.

She sidestepped gracefully, and Gabrielle's nails barely grazed her hair.

"Ah!"

Wearing ten-centimeter heels, Gabrielle stumbled and fell hard onto the floor.

"Sophia! How dare you push me?" she shrieked immediately.

Sophia rubbed her temples.

"Gabrielle, after all these years, you still haven't grown up."

She remembered how Gabrielle had always framed her like this in the past.

Ethan Winston would always tell her to endure it, claiming his sister was young and immature.

A twenty-two-year-old pretending to be naive?

Looking back now, Ethan's reprimands were probably just for show.

Otherwise, why would Gabrielle take them seriously?

In Gabrielle's eyes, Sophia was nothing but a gold-digger clinging to power.

When had she ever seen Sophia this assertive?

Gabrielle froze for a moment.

Seeing Sophia about to leave, she quickly pulled out her phone.

"Ethan! Sophia hit me! She even pushed me! My hands are all scraped!"

She deliberately raised her voice.

"Oh, and I ran into her at the OB-GYN. Maybe she's pregnant and trying to trap you?"

"Don't fall for it, Ethan! Isabella is the only one I'll accept as my sister-in-law!"

Sophia paused mid-step.

She didn't care about the slander.

But if Ethan found out about the pregnancy, it could spell trouble.

The thought only made her more irritable.

After leaving the hospital, Sophia headed straight to the office.

As soon as she entered Pearl Group's headquarters, she heard a commotion.

"You need an appointment to see Sophia? Who does she think she is?"

A man in sunglasses was causing a scene at the reception desk.

"Sorry, sir. You can't see Ms. Laurent without an appointment," the receptionist replied politely.

The man scoffed.

"Ms. Laurent? Tell her to get out here!"

"Too scared to face me? Hiding like a coward?"

"Sophia, do you really think you're untouchable now?"
