Chapter 369

"Even if I can't become your sister-in-law, our childhood friendship won't change..."

Before Isabella Evans could finish, Gabrielle Winston slammed the table and stood abruptly.

"What nonsense are you saying, Isabella?" Her voice dripped with venom. "You're the only woman worthy of my brother."

She curled her lip in disdain. "That trash Sophia Laurent isn't fit to polish your shoes. I'll never let her step foot in the Winston family."

Isabella lowered her lashes, masking the calculation in her eyes.

"But Ethan..."

Ever since Sophia revealed her talents, Ethan Winston had convinced his parents to accept her. Now, Gabrielle was the only one still on Isabella's side.

"My brother's been bewitched by that vixen!" Gabrielle touched her cheek, fury burning in her gaze. "She's nothing but a pretty face. How dare she hit me? I'll make her pay."

A faint smirk ghosted across Isabella's lips.

"I heard Alexander Valdemar woke up. Everyone in our circle is avoiding Sophia now..."

Gabrielle scoffed. "Just wait. I'll tell Cousin Alexander everything and have him throw that used goods out on the street!"

Her face twisted with malice. A man like Alexander would never want a pregnant secondhand woman.

After starting at Versini Couture tomorrow, she'd personally visit Valdemar Holdings to expose Sophia's true colors.

Morning sunlight streamed through the curtains.

Sophia stretched lazily as her phone chimed.

"Ms. Laurent, Margaret and her granddaughter have arrived. Should I take them to Versini first and pick you up later?"

As the hidden owner, Sophia rarely appeared at the company. Only Gavin Winslow, the design director, knew her true identity.

"No need. I'll go myself."

Hanging up, she chose a Klein Blue dress. The knee-length cut accentuated her porcelain skin with elegant simplicity.

She loosely braided her hair, achieving a look of effortless sophistication.

Downstairs, Alexander sat at the dining table.

His black shirt outlined his broad shoulders. Sunlight sculpted his profile as he lifted a coffee cup with slender fingers.

Sophia froze, momentarily spellbound.

"Morning, sis!"

Adrian Valdemar yawned as he approached. "Why'd you stop?"

Following her gaze, he snorted.

"Tch..."
