Adrian Valdemar finally relaxed when Sophia Laurent gave in.

He snorted coldly. "At least you know your place."

If not for worrying about how to explain things to his elder brother when he woke up, he would have cut ties with this woman long ago.

Adrian turned to leave.

"Wait."

Sophia's voice made him pause.

He turned back warily. "Looking for another fight? I won't let you win this time."

The spacious corridor gave him confidence to escape if needed.

Sophia shook her head helplessly. "Am I really that violent in your eyes?"

"Obviously." Adrian didn't hesitate. "You're vicious, cruel, and downright poisonous—"

Sophia narrowed her eyes, tapping the rod against her palm.

"Care to repeat that?"

Adrian immediately shut up.

The welts from this morning's beating still ached faintly.

He forced a dry laugh. "J-just kidding..."

This woman was practically a violent maniac.

When they first met, he'd mistaken her for some delicate little flower.

She'd been about to promise him top-tier resources.

But this idiot wouldn't even let her finish.

"Suit yourself." Sophia changed tactics. "What are your plans then?"

Adrian lifted his chin arrogantly.

"I'll take a few acting roles."

Sophia burst out laughing.

"What decent scripts would come looking for you?" She didn't mince words. "Don't tell me it's another fourth male lead in some cheap web drama like 'Love You Forever'?"

Not that she looked down on Adrian.

With his controversial reputation and cringe-worthy acting skills, no serious production would cast him.

Those offering roles just wanted to cash in on his notoriety.
