Chapter 476

Richard Lowell's barely contained fury flared up again.

"Sophia Laurent, must you drive us to ruin?"

Her expression remained impassive, voice glacial.

"Unlawful confinement is a crime."

She met his gaze unflinchingly.

"I won't let you harm Dr. Quincy."

At that moment, several police officers approached.

"Mr. Lowell, we've received reports of possible illegal detainment here."

Richard clenched his jaw.

Though the Lowells had connections in the capital's elite circles, they paled in comparison to the Valdemars.

These weren't ordinary officers who'd come here today.

He had no choice but to release the man now.

Refusal would mean consequences far worse than bankruptcy for Lowell Entertainment.

He forced a smile.

"A misunderstanding. Just routine questioning about a company theft."

The lead officer nodded.

"Case resolved?"

Richard shot Sophia a venomous look.

"Resolved."

She ignored his glare.

"Will you dismiss the security now?"

Rage darkened Richard's vision.

Under the officers' watchful eyes, he waved his hand.

"Stand down."

Nearly a hundred security personnel dispersed.

Sophia proceeded to the top-floor laboratory.

"Dr. Quincy, are you alright?"

Preston Quincy looked up in surprise.

"Ms. Laurent?"

She offered a warm smile.

"I came when I heard you were in trouble."

He exhaled heavily.

Without her timely intervention, they'd never have left this building.

"We're fine."

Sophia lowered her voice.

"I've established a new research facility in the western suburbs. Would you consider relocating?"

His eyes brightened.

"Absolutely."

His research served humanity, not personal gain.

Adequate funding and facilities were all he required.

Sophia relaxed.

"I'll arrange the transfer immediately."

Dr. Quincy nodded gratefully.

"My thanks."

Nearby, Richard listened with mounting desperation.
