Chapter 115

The officer's expression was stern. "Please cooperate with the investigation."

Christopher Lowell smirked arrogantly. "What's the hurry?"

He pulled a check from his briefcase and flung it toward Sophia Laurent.

"How much could these worthless things cost? Here's ten thousand - enough to buy new ones."

The check sailed through the air in an arc.

Sophia watched the fluttering paper, her eyes turning icy.

"Such generosity, Mr. Lowell. One might mistake this for charity."

She stepped on the fallen check with her heel.

Christopher's face darkened instantly. "Sophia, don't push your luck."

His assistant stepped forward, lowering his voice threateningly. "Know when to stop, Ms. Laurent. Crossing the Lowells won't end well for you."

Sophia walked straight to the officers.

"Officers, there's been trespassing and attempted bribery at my company. I'd like to file a formal complaint."

Her voice was clear and composed.

The officer nodded. "Do you have surveillance footage?"

"The security room is on the second floor."

Sophia led them toward the elevator.

Christopher shoved past his bodyguards. "Sophia! Stop right there!"

No one turned back.

Ten minutes later, the officers returned with bodycam footage.

"We have sufficient evidence. Take him away."

Two officers immediately restrained Christopher.

He struggled violently. "Do you know who I am? Sophia! You'll regret this!"

Sophia watched coldly.

The assistant approached with a grim expression. "Ms. Laurent, you're no match for the Lowell family."

"Thanks for the warning."

Sophia suddenly smiled. "I almost forgot - your specialty is exploiting legal loopholes."

She turned toward the private elevator.

Custodial staff quickly cleaned the scene.

Inside her office, Sophia dialed Patriarch Valdemar.

"Grandfather, it's me."

A kind voice answered. "Sophia dear, calling at this hour?"

"I need your help with something."

After a brief explanation, Patriarch Valdemar's voice turned grave. "They dared bully my granddaughter-in-law? Leave this to me."
