Chapter 66

The recording for "We Are Singers" took place in the private garden of a five-star hotel.

The production team had booked the entire venue. Only staff and invited guests were permitted entry.

Sophia Laurent had just finished rehearsals and was drinking water in the rest area.

When she looked up, she unexpectedly met a familiar pair of eyes.

Ethan Winston strode toward her in a crisp tailored suit.

"Sophia, we need to talk."

She set down her water bottle, her expression instantly turning frosty.

"Mr. Winston, we have nothing to discuss."

Their exchange drew curious glances from nearby crew members.

Noticing the attention, Ethan frowned slightly.

But he quickly softened his tone. "You won't even speak to me now?"

"No."

Her reply was crisp and final.

She couldn't forget how he'd called them mere acquaintances in front of Isabella Evans at the restaurant.

Nor could she erase the memory of him shamelessly proposing she become his secret lover.

The boy who'd once risked everything to save her had become the person who hurt her most.

Ethan's face darkened.

"When did you become so heartless, Sophia?"

She nearly laughed aloud.

"Ethan, have you forgotten who cheated first?"

Her gaze locked onto his.

"You're the one who couldn't let go of your first love. You're the one who denied our relationship in public."

His expression froze.

After a long pause, he murmured, "That was just acting for appearances."

Suddenly, the man before her felt like a complete stranger.

Tired of rehashing the past, she cut to the chase. "Why are you really here today?"

Seeing her stance soften slightly, hope flickered in his eyes.

"Sophia, there's really nothing between Isabella and me."

His voice took on a coaxing tone.

"Let's stop this nonsense and get back together."
