Chapter 367

Adrian Valdemar's brows knitted together.

"If you have no objections, why get divorced?"

He ran a frustrated hand through his hair. "My brother has looks, talent—he used to be the most sought-after bachelor in the capital..."

Sophia Laurent burst into laughter.

"What's so funny?"

Adrian met her amused gaze, his ears turning pink.

"Maybe...give him a chance?"

He leaned in eagerly. "Feelings can grow over time."

Sophia arched a brow. "Who was it that swore he'd never accept me as his sister-in-law?"

Hadn't it only been a short while?

Adrian flushed crimson.

"I—I was immature back then."

His expression turned uncharacteristically serious. "I genuinely want you to stay in our family now."

After spending time with her, he'd realized Sophia's cold exterior hid warmth.

And though Alexander was reserved, his behavior toward her was different.

There might still be hope.

Sophia's smile faded as she shook her head.

"I'm sorry. Your brother and I...it's impossible."

Her hand rested lightly on her abdomen, resolve shining in her eyes.

Adrian froze, shoulders slumping.

"Alright."

He didn't press further.

Thirty minutes later, Alexander emerged from the study.

Patriarch Valdemar hesitated before speaking to Sophia.

"Come visit this old man more often."

Understanding his unspoken concern, she nodded warmly.

"Of course."

The Valdemar brothers escorted her home.

"Address?" Alexander asked.

"Pearl Entertainment."

Adrian immediately objected. "You can't go back alone at this hour!"

"I live at the company," Sophia explained.

His eyes widened. "You're not returning to the Lowells?"

She averted her gaze. "It's more convenient for work."

Alexander spoke abruptly. "Go to Westmount Villa."

His voice was calm. "I'll take you to work tomorrow morning."

Adrian nodded vigorously. "Exactly! All your things are still there—"

Sophia turned to Alexander.

The man's dark eyes were inscrutable.
