Chapter 292
Warren Kingsley hurried out of the elevator.
His eyes immediately landed on Sophia Laurent standing in the hotel lobby. His lips curled in an involuntary sneer.
But when he noticed Henry Chamberlain beside her, he quickly plastered on a professional smile.
"Ms. Laurent, Mr. Chamberlain. I'm Warren Kingsley, the hotel manager."
Although the Valdemar brothers currently controlled the family empire, the Patriarch's appointed CEO still required surface-level respect.
Sophia instantly caught the disdain in his eyes. Her gaze turned glacial.
"Manager Kingsley, Adrian Valdemar is currently in this hotel. Pull up all surveillance footage immediately."
Warren's heart skipped a beat.
Adrian?
Alexander's younger brother?
Recalling Damian Valdemar's strange smile earlier, everything clicked into place. Cold sweat dampened his back.
"Mr. Valdemar's brother? But..."
He feigned concern with a frown. "It's late. A large-scale search would disturb our guests. If this gets leaked online..."
The unspoken implication: He wasn't refusing, just protecting the company's image.
Sophia smirked. "You're fired."
She had already notified other executives and security when summoning the manager.
Warren's smile froze. "On what grounds?"
"I've worked for Valdemar Holdings for twelve years! From waiter to manager. And you dismiss me with one sentence?"
His voice rose. "Who would remain loyal after such treatment?"
The threat hung thick in his words.
Henry's face darkened. "Watch your tone, Kingsley. Your termination paperwork is already processed."
Other hotel staff began arriving.
Murmurs spread at the news of Warren's dismissal. This was the former Patriarch's trusted man—someone even Alexander hadn't touched.
The assistant manager dared to ask, "Mr. Chamberlain, what's going on?"
