Chapter 94
Richard Lowell forced a smile. "Uncle, Sophia has always been stubborn. She didn't mean what she said earlier. Please don't take it seriously."
He truly believed this.
Sophia was just jealous of their favoritism toward Emily. This outburst was merely a cry for attention.
"The Lowell Group has been facing some difficulties recently. These projects are crucial for us..."
Richard deliberately trailed off.
If Patriarch Valdemar valued Sophia, he would surely offer assistance.
He anxiously studied the old man's expression.
With the Valdemar family's support, the Lowell Group could surpass Pearl Entertainment.
More importantly, it would send a clear message to the business world and deter potential partners of Pearl.
Instead, Patriarch Valdemar slid the documents toward Sophia. "Sophia, what do you think of these projects?"
Richard's pupils constricted.
He never expected Patriarch Valdemar to hold Sophia in such high regard.
She was just a minor composer who wrote a few songs. Why did she deserve his attention?
Sophia opened the file.
After scanning the contents, she frowned, then let out a cold laugh.
"Mr. Lowell, your calculations are so loud I could hear them from here."
These partners all had close ties to Valdemar Group.
Yet the Lowell Group's offers were far below market value—some even half of Pearl's bids.
Richard's face darkened. "Sophia, stop this nonsense!"
He lowered his voice in warning. "Don't forget you're still a shareholder of Lowell Group."
Sophia ignored him and addressed Patriarch Valdemar directly.
"The Jing Mountain project is priced at 65% of Pearl's bid. The semiconductor materials cost 30% more but offer identical quality..."
She succinctly pointed out every discrepancy.
"Sophia!" Richard barked.
"Am I wrong?" she countered coolly.
Faced with undeniable facts, Richard fell silent.
He stood frozen, blood rushing to his head, chest tight with fury.
"Appearances can be deceiving," he argued through gritted teeth. "The Lowell Group is an established enterprise with guaranteed quality—"
"Pearl's semiconductors meet all certifications. Their construction team has won municipal awards and complies with national standards," Sophia interrupted bluntly.
Richard stared at her in disbelief. "Have you become Pearl's lapdog? Forgotten your own family name?"
He immediately forced an apologetic smile toward Patriarch Valdemar.
